>Rideau Canal Fabric Mural   Memorial

Kingston, Ontario, Canada

This mural is dedicated to the hundreds of Irish immigrant workers who lost their lives from 1826 and 1832 building the Rideau Canal. Working in extremely unsafe conditions many hundreds died from dangerous working conditions, Malaria and other diseases. The mural is on display at the Hotel Dieu Hospital.
