CCOHS to present Best Practices for New Worker Orientation and Training at Partners in Prevention 2011

Hamilton, ON (May 6, 2011) – Sandra Bello, technical specialist, on behalf of the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS), will be presenting Best Practices for New Worker Orientation and Training at this year’s Partners in Prevention Health and Safety Conference & Trade Show, on Wednesday, May 18, 2011.

Bello will discuss how experience has shown that a successful training or outreach program will cover the overall training needs; recognize the difference between education and training; and incorporate the best practice approach for reaching young, new or migrant workers and acknowledge the differences between these groups.

There will also be an opportunity for conference delegates to take any CCOHS one-hour e-course, for free, in the CCOHS e-Learning Lab located in Hall 1 on Tuesday, May 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each participant receives a certificate of completion, and can use the e-course hour for certification points.
