Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety Launches New E-Courses

HAMILTON, ON (October 10, 2012)- The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) has released three new e-courses to help foster, deliver, and facilitate learning for workers and employers in the occupational health and safety field.

HazCom 2012 for Workers is an e-course that will familiarize workers with the HazCom system used across the United States to provide safety information and training about hazardous chemicals in their workplaces. Participants will learn about the Hazard Communication Standard 2012 (1910.1200) which adopted the “Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals” (GHS). Although it is intended for workers in the U.S., the course has relevance for Canadian companies that have health and safety responsibilities for U.S. locations and offices.
