CCOHS offers mental health e-course package aimed at promoting understanding of mental health in the workplace

HAMILTON, ON (April 11, 2013) - The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) has created a package of five e-courses focusing on various aspects of mental health in the workplace.

The e-course package, which is targeted at employers, employees, managers and supervisors, has been developed in partnership with High Point Wellness, an organization that delivers health care solutions for a variety of public and private industries, insurance sectors, workers’ compensation boards and consulting organizations. The five courses include:

  • Mental Health: Awareness
  • Mental Health: Health and Wellness Strategies
  • Mental Health: Signs, Symptoms and Solutions
  • Mental Health: Psychologically Healthy Workplaces
  • Mental Health: Communication Strategies

CCOHS courses are unique in that they are developed by subject specialists in the field, and reviewed by representatives from labour, employers and government to ensure the content and approach are unbiased and credible.
