E-Course Helps Health and Safety Committees to be Effective
HAMILTON, ON (March 10, 2005) - The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) has released Health and Safety Committees, a new e-course that provides participants with the information they need to serve effectively on their Health and Safety Committee.
Health and Safety Committees, CCOHS’ latest addition to its training roster, describes the committee members’ roles and responsibilities and explains how to establish a new committee, how a committee can perform its functions, and how it can be effective. It teaches participants how to respond to workplace concerns and assist in resolving workplace issues.
New committee members as well as seasoned professionals can benefit from this online course and the convenience of learning at their own pace, at their own computer. Learning is made easy, with features such as links to supporting information and documents, quizzes and sample checklists as well as a sample accident report form that can be adapted for use in any workplace.
Delivered over the Internet in an e-learning format, the course is cost effective and makes training easily accessible. The course takes about 4060 minutes to complete.
CCOHS is committed to providing Canadian workers, management and businesses with the health and safety education and information they need to meet their responsibilities and develop a safety culture in the workplace, in easy-to-access, electronic format.
The French version of Health and Safety Committees is in production and will be released in April 2005.
