During a major infectious disease outbreak or pandemic (world-wide outbreak) things may be different than what we are used to seeing during a regular flu or cold season. More people will get sick, and some will get very ill. It may be difficult to know exactly what to do. This section will help answer some of your questions, and help you to be ready ahead of time.

You can help by being prepared – have an emergency kit (with items helpful for a pandemic) and have up-to-date contact and health needs lists.

Did you know? While it seems simple, washing your hands the right way and at the right times, as well as taking a few other easy steps can make a big difference in slowing the spread of the virus. Don’t forget to remind people about the importance of healthy hygiene:
