Volunteering?

Don't forget that when you're doing volunteer work, you face exactly the same hazards as an employee. Therefore, all the information on this website also applies to you.

Volunteering is a great way to gain work experience, learn new skills, and meet new people. Places you can volunteer include:

  • schools
  • charitable organizations
  • hospitals and nursing homes
  • political offices
  • religious organizations
  • humane shelters
  • special events

As well, many school boards now require their high school students to complete a set number of volunteer hours in order to graduate.

So, if you're already a volunteer, or thinking about becoming one, be sure to check out all the information on this website to keep yourself safe while volunteering.
