CCOHS to Participate on WHMIS 2015 Panel

Anne-Marie Besliu, Technical Specialist at the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) will be sharing her expertise on a panel with other representatives at an upcoming conference held by Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS). The session WHMIS 2015: How Workplaces Can Prepare for Successful Transition will be moderated by Chris Moore, Manager of Training and Education at CCOHS.

The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) provides a comprehensive standard for the classification of chemical hazards and the communication of information on labels and safety data sheets. This panel of representatives from Federal and Provincial governments, industry and labour will provide insight on the challenges, solutions and opportunities. Emphasis will be on workplace health and safety impacts plus what employers, labour unions and safety specialists can do to ensure a smooth transition into the new system.
