The victim decided to change the flat tire while his truck was parked on a slight decline. Once the tire was replaced, the deceased crawled under the front bumper to release the jack. At that instant, the truck rolled forward crushing the victim. *** APPLICABLE SECTION(S) OF INDUSTRIAL REGULATIONS *** *** PROTECTIVE MEASURES *** 1. Park vehicle on level ground. 2. Stop motor, parking brakes on, leave transmission in low gear or reverse. 3. Chock truck and trailer wheels. 4. Display caution signs to warn traffic. 5. Raise and release jack by means of a long-handled tool. 6. Never rely on a jack to support a vehicle under which it is necessary for a person to work. Use suppporting blocks or jack-stands under frames or axles to ensure the vehicle cannot fall. Tractor and trailer brakes should be inspected and maintained as often as is necessary dependng on conditions of use, age of vehicle, and loads carried. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
