Complex Issues of Return to Work Examined

Hamilton, ON (November 9, 2010) – One of Canada's leading return to work (RTW) researchers, Dr. Renée-Louise Franche, will be discussing best practices for the most effective workplace RTW programs for injured or ill workers, based on the latest research evidence, in a webinar produced by the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS).

Dr. Franche will present findings from two systematic research reviews of RTW programs that address two common conditions accounting for most work disability costs: musculoskeletal disorders and mental health conditions. The webinar will take place on Wednesday, November 17, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. EST, and qualifies for certification maintenance points.

Dr. Franche is a clinical psychologist and a consultant in work disability prevention and occupational health. She is an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Simon Fraser University, at the School of Population and Public Health, University of British Columbia, and at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, and is also an adjunct scientist at the Institute for Work & Health.
