New E-Course from CCOHS Covers the Basics of Personal Protective Equipment

CCOHS’ new e-course provides a practical introduction to the most common types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) It includes safety tips regarding the use of PPE and highlights the importance of a PPE program, as well as the limitations of PPE.

The course would be helpful to workers, supervisors and managers and health and safety committee members working in industrial settings, on construction or demolition sites, and in the forestry and mining sectors.

Specialized PPE, (equipment used by emergency responders or to protect against biohazards) is not covered in this course.

Personal Protective Equipment: The Basics takes about 60 minutes to complete. The course can be purchased for one user or, if four or more people are to be trained, a multi-user license will save you money. Special introductory pricing is available until December 31, 2005.

The French version of the course, Équipements de protection individuelle will be available later this winter.
