December 11, 2025 – Hamilton, ON – Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS)
The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) is pleased to announce that Thalia D'Gyves-Carpino, an Occupational Health and Safety Management student at Western Continuing Studies (Western University), has been awarded the 2025 Chad Bradley Scholarship – a $3,000 prize for future leaders in occupational health and safety.
The scholarship, named in honour of former CCOHS governor Catherine “Chad” Bradley, was created to inspire and encourage women pursuing careers in occupational health and safety in Canada.
Applicants submitted personal essays describing why they were pursuing their education in occupational health and safety; their motivation and inspiration; what and how they expected to contribute to the field and/or safe work; and other achievements. The winner was selected by a panel of judges (representing labour, government, and employers) from the CCOHS Council of Governors.
For more information about the Chad Bradley Scholarship and how to apply in the future, visit: www.ccohs.ca/scholarships.
“We congratulate Thalia on this outstanding achievement and look forward to seeing how she will help shape the future of occupational health and safety in Canada.”
