Understand the information required on WHMIS labels.
A product’s label is the worker's first source of information about the hazards related to the product and how to use it safely.
Under WHMIS, supplier labels for hazardous workplace products must display the product identifier and supplier identifier, as well as the required hazard pictograms, signal word, hazard statements, and precautionary statements based on the hazard classification.
Workplace labels must display the product identifier, safe handling precautions, and reference to the safety data sheet, if available.
