Why Use Rapid Tests?

Rapid antigen tests are a safe, easy, and fast way to identify potential COVID-19 cases in the workplace. Regular rapid antigen testing of asymptomatic individuals, along with other preventive measures, can help prevent an outbreak and protect workers, the organization, and the community.

How to Use Rapid Tests

Carefully follow the test kit instructions and complete any required training. Tests typically involve the following steps:

  1. SWAB - gently collect sample by swabbing inside the nose (usually both nostrils).
  2. TRANSFER - place swab in test solution and swirl for 15 seconds.
  3. GET RESULTS - apply solution to test device and wait for result to appear, usually in 15 to 30 minutes.
  4. ACT - take the appropriate actions based on result.

What to do with a Positive Result

  • Immediately isolate from others and tell employer
  • Get a laboratory-based test through the local public health authority to confirm the rapid test result
  • Continue to follow all public health measures
