Zoonotic Diseases

Zoonotic diseases, such as West Nile virus infection, rabies, avian flu, and Lyme disease, are spread to humans through contact with infected animals, the environment, or contaminated food or water. Workers who may be at risk include those in outdoor occupations or who have contact with animals, including veterinarians, groundskeepers and workers involved in landscaping, construction, forestry, farming, and wildlife management.
