The US Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) has recently implemented the Globally Harmonized System for Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). For the first time ever, OSHA labels will be required to show a pictogram to help convey hazard information. In Canada, we are starting to see the GHS pictograms on (Material) Safety Data Sheets and product labels. Within the next few years, WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) will also implement the GHS. Display this poster of the GHS pictograms and hazards to help workers understand the new information they are seeing.

This poster is printed double-sided, with English on one side and French on the other.

Every poster produced by CCOHS undergoes several stages of review. As part of this review, representatives from government, employers, and labour are requested to comment on draft copies of CCOHS documents for technical accuracy and readability.

Although every effort is made to ensure accuracy and completeness of the information, it is understood that CCOHS makes no warranty as to the accuracy or completeness of such information and assumes no liability for any damages or loss suffered as a result of any inaccuracy or incompleteness therein.
