This recorded webinar will outline the five major factors that contribute to musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) injuries as a result of manual materials handling (MMH) activities. Focus will be placed upon quantifying these factors in order to understand how to identify which tasks are particularly harmful at a workplace, and what parts of the body are most at risk while performing these tasks.

Specific, relevant case study materials will show how you can apply these practical processes in your workplace so that your organization’s Ergonomic program can focus on reducing the physical demands associated with manual materials handling activities—one of the major causes of the majority of MSD claims in Canada.

To help support the strategic reduction of MSDs, each participant will receive CCOHS’ customizable tools and checklists to help them identify and modify their particular workplace MSD issues.

About the Presenter

Webinar presenter Dhananjai Borwankar is the resident expert on musculoskeletal disorders prevention and a Technical Specialist at CCOHS. He provides additional expertise in chemical and environmental health and safety program management plus hazard identification and risk management. Dhananjai is involved in developing practical tools and resources to help organizations improve their health and safety performance.
