Product Description

What does the impending legalization of recreational cannabis in Canada mean for your workplace, and what do you need to do get ready? For employers, the key issue is impairment. Being impaired at work – whether it’s by drugs, alcohol or fatigue – can affect our ability to keep ourselves and those around us safe.

In this half-day workshop, learn how to develop an effective workplace impairment policy that addresses any potential source of impairment. You will leave with a policy framework that will cover definitions, accommodation, reporting, and responding to suspected impairment.

This workshop covers:

  • What is impairment?
  • Symptoms of impairment
  • Impairment policy and program development
  • Elements of an impairment policy
  • Employer, supervisor and worker roles

Who should attend

  • Human resources, managers, supervisors and others involved in the development and implementation of workplace policies and programs
  • Those who may need to respond to suspected impairment concerns
