For some time now, Health Canada has had an administrative policy to accept the GHS 16-heading Safety Data Sheet (SDS) as long as WHMIS content requirements are met.

This poster illustrates how the 50+ information items required by the Controlled Products Regulations (CPR) slot into the GHS Safety Data Sheet format, and identifies other potential compliance issues. Cautions and helpful tips are highlighted.

This poster is printed double-sided, with English on one side and French on the other.

Target Audience

This colourful poster is designed to educate, train, and inform chemical manufacturers and suppliers, and employers and employees of industries where chemical products are used.

Note: This poster compares current requirements of the Canadian Controlled Products Regulations and the Hazardous Products Act to the GHS "purple" book minimum information specifications for the SDS.
